Solid Waste

In the State of California, the issues presented by waste management are highly charged. Providing counseling on compliance and strategic advice to solid waste companies, Archer Norris is adept at negotiating franchise agreements, rate applications, the permitting of solid waste facilities, private and public-private financing of solid waste facilities, mergers and acquisitions. The firm's capabilities include representation of solid waste clients before local governments (franchising agencies and agencies with land use authority including cities, counties and regional agencies), the State of California Department of Toxic Substance Control and the California Integrated Waste Management Board.

Clients also seek our expertise with respect to closure and post closure funding for landfills, as well as addressing the large and complex body of regulations governing the management and cleanup of hazardous materials. We have participated in large and complex public and private financings for solid waste facilities.
