Nandor devises effective litigation strategies for construction contractors and related businesses for use at trial and in alternative dispute resolution forums. Mechanics liens, wage claims, contract disputes and hazardous material cleanup are conflicts he regularly handles. He also provides transactional and entity formation counsel to clients.

When defending toxic torts claims involving lead, benzene, asbestos and silica, Nandor masterly handles the scientific and technical information that these claims require.

He defends general contractors, subcontractors, premises owners, crane manufacturers, suppliers of steam boilers, and makers of friction products, electrical components and steam generators in their asbestos and silica claims.  He also serves as National Coordinating Counsel of Litigation for an international clutch manufacturer.

In a recent multidefendant asbestos trial, Nandor mounted an ardent defense that exonerated his client through a detailed analysis of product specifications and chemical breakdowns.

Managing Disputes for California Homeowners Associations (HOA)

Advising and representing HOAs, managers and their insurers is another practice area for Nandor. He serves as a board member on several HOAs.  Frequently counseling in a highly charged environment, he effectively balances strategic case settlement with community issues, helping HOAs preserve critical relationships.

Nandor Krause’s representative matters include:

• Elevator Injury/Product Defect - Called in to defend an elevator service company facing serious injury claims two weeks before trial started, Nandor and his trial team quickly reformulated courtroom strategies.  His winning argument dispelled the myth of injuries occurring to passengers riding in a rapidly descending elevator. The jury’s focus was directed to a failed component part in the vintage elevator.  Our client prevailed and a defense verdict was delivered.
• Food Contamination - Secured a defense verdict for a leading supplier of specialty chemicals.  Client faced allegations from a large food supplier that it was responsible for tainting nearly 20 million cans of fruit resulting in $5.6 million in damages. Nandor and his trial team emerged victorious after a three-week trial. The plaintiff was found to be 90 percent at fault and ultimately entitled to nothing, and eventually responsible for the defense team’s attorney fees too.
• Asbestos/Toxic Torts- Defended the manufacturer of automobile clutches, one of several defendants in an asbestos exposure case.  In a strategically timed defense, Nandor analyzed chemical breakdowns and product specifications to achieve case dismissal for his client and save the company substantial litigation costs.
• Business/Environmental Clean Up - Successfully resolved a business dispute involving beach of contract and delay claims on behalf of a demolition and hauling contractor at a hazardous site.  In this particular claim, Nandor recovered a substantial amount of the client’s billed time and material while successfully defending the delay claim.
• Food Borne Illness Liability - Defended numerous food-related liability claims involving toxicity, E.coli threats at fast-food chains, blood and AIDS infection.
• Construction Business Disputes - Defending and representing numerous contractors in a range of business conflicts including breach of contract disputes, mechanics liens and wage claims.
• Trucking Injury/ Premises Liability - Prevailed in a significant personal injury lawsuit involving a gas delivery truck. Analysis of the design of the service station where the accident occurred proved pivotal to Nandor’s successful defense of his client, an independent petroleum company.
