Keith Gillette heads the firm's Intellectual Property practice group.
Keith brings a unique perspective to the practice of law. As a degreed engineer with substantial experience in the field of Marine (mechanical) Engineering, he brings a critical eye to the technical aspects of a legal problem, whether a lawsuit or transaction.
Keith’s practice encompasses advising clients on intellectual property matters, and trial work in the areas of intellectual property, business disputes, and large-exposure tort litigation.
Intellectual Property and Business Litigation
Keith’s representative IP litigation experience includes copyright and trademark infringement, and extends to claims of trade secret misappropriation, including claims involving misappropriation of business processes and proprietary information. Representative matters in the business litigation field include defense of business interests in class action suits based in California’s unfair competition laws, and includes contract actions, business torts, fraud claims, and unfair business practices.
Trial Experience
Keith’s first-chair trial experience includes bodily injury and property damage claims, as well as business fraud claims, unfair business practices claims, and contract actions in state and federal courts in California and Nevada. His trial experience includes the defense of catastrophic bodily injury claims.
Intellectual Property Transactions
Keith counsels clients owning IP assets, negotiating and drafting all manner of agreements aimed at the protection and exploitation of intangible property rights. He also assists clients in the acquisition, registration, and protection of trademarks and copyrights.
Representative Clients
Representative clients include product manufacturers, marine propulsion system manufacturers, consumer product distributors, liquid propane gas distributors, industrial designers, academic institutions, and software developers.
