National and California Insurance Coverage and Litigation

For the last 25 years Rand has been involved in both the interpretation and drafting of insurance policy forms and endorsements. His clients include Sequoia Insurance Company, the Mid-Continent Group, Hanover Insurance Company, The Nonprofits’ Insurance Alliance Group, and Oregon Mutual Insurance Company.

By keeping abreast of recent developments in both litigation and in insurance coverage, he has been able to advise his clients concerning recent trends and anticipating the response to those trends by both claims-handling strategy and endorsements.

A Valued Expert in Coverage Issues

Rand’s practical approach to insurance coverage allows him to provide both a correct analysis of the coverage issue as well as innovative, out-of-the-box solutions to the challenging factual situations and legal theories which are constantly being provided by the plaintiffs’ bar.

His experience includes undertaking the defense of numerous carriers in bad faith actions, being retained as an expert in bad faith litigation and serving as a panelist in insurance coverage seminars for both the DRI and by his individual clients.

A Valued Veteran of the Archer Norris Community

Rand joined the predecessor to Archer Norris in 1984 and has been a partner in the firm since 1987. He is a member of the Contra Costa County Bar and is actively involved in his community through Little League, youth soccer and as coach of the Lamorinda Under-15 Rugby Football Club.
